We clearly were under dressed, but had heard that this was a great restaurant...so we gave it a whirl. The staff was right out of Casablanca...so professional. The servers were in tuxedos and the server assistants wore vests with tux shirts. We ordered the caprese as an app...delish!! My son ordered the Steak Chianti (not the official name...but it had Chianti in the name) and my husband ordered the seafood risotto. I ordered the ceasar salad since I had eaten a large lunch, but tasted both of their dishes and they were DELICIOUS!!!...
Great food,great atmosphere, it was truly a wonderful experience from the customer service to the delicious food..Great date night!
Outstanding dinner! I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor, and made a reservation. We left Montana at 6AM, and started our dining experience at 7:15. Gino, I believe was his name, greeted us and walked us to our table. Which, is beautifully arranged, with fresh roses. Various waiters came to take drink orders, ask if we were taken care of. Our main waiter was incredible, throughout the evening. The entire dining experience was wonderful, on our 20 year anniversary!
My daughter and her husband took us here since they had been previously and loved it and.....so did we! Everything from the staff, to the food and everything in between was over the top! My husband stated we weren't waited on we were pampered and he couldn't have said it better. We started with assorted appetizers which included colossal shrimp cocktail, calamari which was superb (fried perfectly) and fresh mozzarella w/beefsteak tomato which was also super yummy! Let's not forget about the service staff who were attentive to our every request. Couldn't have asked for a better night out. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a fantastic meal.

This is a LONG time favorite of mine. My husband and I have been customers since they opened. I am happy to say that nothing has changed. The food and service ae excellent! I am never disappointed at Donatello!!

Excellent food prepared the way you want it. We ordered something we saw on the internet menu but was not on the table menu and it was excellent. We also ate early so that the noise level was low but I can see how when the dining area is full noise levels would be significantly greater. Service was excellent with someone always close at hand. We will eat there again for special occasions as the price was not cheap but the food was worth it.
We tried Donatello’s two years ago while on vacation in Tampa. It was so good we made sure to write down the name for our next trip. Not disappointed. Food was so flavorful. Lots of choices.

I have never been to a restaurant where the staff cared so much for their customers. We were greeted with a warm handshake from who I can assume was the owner. We were quickly shown our table and the menus. Our drinks were constantly being refilled, no worry of running out. I would gladly come back anytime.
Authentic Italian food! Best Italian money can buy in Central Florida. Homemade Italian recipes...not the garbage from big chain restaurants. Pricey, yes but worth it! We are Italian from RI and accustomed to quality Federal Hill Italian food and this place fits right in the hill...only place in Central Florida that's has deserved that status. Service is second to none; highly attentive staff. If you appreciate authentic Italian food, you will be in for a treat at Donatello.
Awesome service, amazing Italian cuisine. I had the sea bass topped with lobster, it was on the specials menu. The fish is always cooked perfectly in this restaurant. Whenever I order steak, the steak is always cooked perfectly. The owners of this restaurant are always around, which means the food is always going to be very good.
I've eaten authentic Italian from Maine to Texas and this is without doubt THE BEST food I've experienced this side of the pond. The service is exemplary and the atmosphere is spot on. The food is amazing!!! Found this one by chance and was so glad I did!! Gino, well done sir!!

One of my favorite places in Tampa for Italian food. You won't catch me anywhere else, but at Donatello's. From the moment you enter their restaurant the staff makes you feel like your part of their family one of the main reasons I return time after time. They are so accommodating that they will even make you things off the menu on request. One of my favorite waiters is Carmelo I have asked him to surprise me with a dish to try and I can tell you he never disappoints.
Quite possibly the best Italian Restaurant in Florida if not the entire country! Each visit is better than the last. The ambiance, service and to die for food are worth the trip from Miami to Tampa!
Truly Donatello's is "Old School" Italian, catering to your every whim and fancy. And, they still know how to treat their lady guest...

The only thing that needs to be said...the best restaurant in all of Tampa Bay. Outstanding food, outstanding service and a wonderfully convenient location. Thank you for a wonderful experience, every time we visit.
I had to give this place 5 stars as well because I can't find one thing they did wrong as far as service goes and our meals too. We had a 7:30 pm reservation for 8 of us and arrived a few minutes before. They have valet parking and the inside of the restaurant is beautiful. It was not too bright in there which I liked that so this is a great place to have a romantic dinner for 2. You should definitely make a reservation. We had to wait for our table but we did not mind since they have a nice bar area along with a piano player and 2 other men. They could def sing and they were funny. I'm not sure it's the same band every night but we went on a Sat and the guys this night were very entertaining. After dinner we wound up back in this room and sat around the piano. Great time.

First time at Donatello tonight for a staff incentive dinner and we will absolutely be back!! Great atmosphere, excellent service and perfect food! We had appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts and coffees and everything was served hot and fresh! Live piano music in the bar and a great dining experience from start to finish! Delighted to meet the owner Gino and snap a photo too! Thank you for a great night and see you again soon!

The best service. I was just there yesterday with my fiancée Johnny and we had a blast . It was a carnival theme. The food was awesome
Gino was fantastic he made my fiancée feel at home and it was his first time there. I highly recommend.
